Where do you start? What do you say to each other?
What if one of you is really nervous about saying your vows anyway, let alone having to write them?
We've taken a few tips from Victoria J.Brown, qualified wedding planner, 'The Bride and Groom's Fun Guide to Planning a Wedding'
She Says
‘Wouldn’t it be
lovely to write our own vows?’
She Means
‘I want you to tell
me how much you love me.’
He Says
‘Don’t we just say I do?’
He
Means
‘I do want to marry
you but ...
I’m quite nervous about this part, what if I cry in front of my
mates?’
Tips
On Writing Your Own Vows
- Before
you decide whether writing your own vows is definitely something you want
to

- If you feel let down that your other-half really doesn’t want to write their own, maybe you need to think about why you feel so down. As they will still be marrying you, they will still be saying words that are true. If you need reassurance, why not ask them to write some words of their own, just for the two of you, instead of declaring their love in front of an audience.
- Some
people simply don’t like that type of attention, nothing to do with love,
marriage and happy ever-after. As long as the words ‘I will’ are declared,
there should be no issue of your love for each other.
