If you want to save money on your wedding but still have an amazing day, we recommend this book.
To entice you ... here's a few tips from the book:
* AVOID THE TRADITIONAL WEDDING VENUES AND SKIP ANYTHING THAT HAS "WEDDING" IN ITS NAME
These places charge a premium. If you're looking to cut costs on the venue, parks are a cheap option - they're often free, and also beautiful and romantic. (You saw Miranda and Steve's wedding in Sex and the City right?). Permits are usually issued free of charge, but you'll probably have to pay a small location fee. As well as city or local parks, national parks also provide a perfect venue.
TIP!
If a wedding in the park is tempting, keep the following things in mind:
- Contact the park's administrative office and ask whether weddings are permitted before you set your heart on it.
- Ask about regulations and reservations.
- Check these reservations carefully - do you have to bring chairs, can you play music, how many guests are allowed?
- Find out if there's a charge for cleaning up post-wedding. If possible, try to get in touch with a bride who has had a wedding there in the past to find out how things went and if there are any other details you should keep in mind.
* CONSIDER HAVING AFTERNOON TEA INSTEAD OF A DINNER
Hosting a garden party with tea, sandwiches and cake is a nice laid back option and you can save a fortune, plus, doesn't that sound delightful?!
* USE COUPONS WHERE POSSIBLE
Before you make any large purchase, be sure to check for coupons.
