1. DO YOU NEED IT?
There are many things that you won't really need, but would like! This is absolutely fine if your finances allow these extras. However, many things wedding-related are not a necessity and more often than not only you will notice if they are there or not. Make sure you have a tight plan about what you need and what you want. On your 'want' list highlight those things most important to you. Decide what you can live without!
2. GET MARRIED DURING THE WEEK AND OUT OF SEASON!
Many wedding venues offer a huge discount for mid-week weddings. Even a Friday can be much cheaper than a Saturday or Sunday. Many suppliers can be cheaper too, as weekends can be a very demanding time for them. This goes for the time of year too. Summer is a very popular time for weddings, with some venues holding more than one wedding on the same day. However, if you get married at a less popular time of the year, there may be discounts available. Don't forget to ask, and negotiate if possible.
3. UNUSUAL VENUES
You don't have to get married in a hotel, or the most popular wedding venue in your area. There are so many hidden places, such as church or village halls, sports halls or even a local barn. You'll be surprised how stunning these places can look once you have the right decor in place. The decor will cost less than half the price for a fancy hotel. Hiring somewhere unusual also adds a uniqueness to your wedding.
