So it’s your wedding day: the day of your dreams –
supposedly the best day of your life!
So why do you feel as if you could pull your hair out?
If you do feel like this, don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal.
Weddings are a juggling act: wanting the most perfect day, while listening to what everyone else wants and trying to decide what is best for you!
Weddings are a juggling act: wanting the most perfect day, while listening to what everyone else wants and trying to decide what is best for you!
If you feel as if the planning of your wedding is getting to
you, take some time out.
Here are a few tips:
- Arrange a spa day, or a massage, with a friend or alone.
- Have a day to yourself (or with a friend) doing something you enjoy that doesn’t involve wedding talk.
- If you need help, seek it. Don’t try to be the master of all. Yes, you want it to be perfect, but if you let others know how you want it, they can help.
- If there is anyone who is putting a lot of demands on you (such as, parents, siblings etc.) sit down and talk to them about how you can work together. The worst thing you can do is demand that this is YOUR wedding and you want it YOUR way! This may be the case, but there are ways of working with your family and friends so you can still have the wedding of your dreams. Talking and discussing will get you much further than shouting and screaming at each other.
- Remember: this is one day out of your life – it’s the marriage that really counts.
